Sharon Parker's Background
Sharon Lee Parker is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an Honors graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. She has practiced law for almost 30 years, and concentrates her legal practice in the areas of Estate Planning [especially wills, trusts, and health care planning], Estate Administration, Health Care Law, and Corporate Law.
Recognized as a leader in her profession, She has an "AV" rating by Martindale Hubble, a peer review rating that attests to a lawyer’s legal ability and professional ethics. Sharon serves on the Board of Directors of Lawyers Mutual Liability Insurance Company of North Carolina, Inc., and has served on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association [NCBA]. She was honored by the NCBA as a Citizen Lawyer in 2015 for service to her fellow citizens.
Long active in serving her community, Sharon was honored in 1982 with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine and in 2010 with the Governors’ Medallion for Volunteer Service.
Sharon currently serves as Secretary to the McDowell County Health Coalition Board of Directors, on the Advisory Board for the Corpening YMCA, on the McDowell Endowment Board (an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina), and on the CareNet Counseling Center of Marion Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Marion, the Carson House Society, the McDowell Chamber of Commerce, and the Marion Downtown Business Association. She attends First Baptist Church in Marion with her daughter.
